Help & List of FAQs

Bookings

Where is my booking confirmation?

Something to bear in mind is that here at TripRadars, we don’t have your booking details. We promise we’re not holding your booking details hostage, here’s a quick explanation to help you understand how TripRadars works.

  • When you search for travel options on TripRadars, we use that technology to show you the best and cheapest options.
  • We provide this free service so you can have a cheaper holiday but we don’t sell tickets or take bookings ourselves.
  • This means your payment and booking details are held by the airline, agent or travel company you selected.

So where ARE my booking details?

The good news is, finding your booking confirmation is a simple case of contacting the airline, agent or travel company you booked with.

Not sure who you booked with. Here are a few different ways to find out.

Step 1: Check your email thoroughly. A confirmation should have been emailed to you when you booked. Try searching for the destination, or simply search for the words ‘booking confirmation’. It should pop up.

Step 2: Still can’t find it? Try checking your junk and spam folders. Sometimes your email filters will get overexcited and fling the wrong things in there.

Step 3: No luck? Look at the bank statement for the card you used to pay. The name of the airline or the travel agent should be right there next to the charge.

Who should I contact about my booking?

TripRadars is a travel search engine. We help you plan your trip but we don’t take bookings or payments ourselves. Instead, we pass you through to your chosen travel provider (airline or travel agent) and you make your booking directly with them on their website.

This means we don’t have access to any of your booking information. If your enquiry is about any of the following, we would recommend contacting the travel provider directly:

  • You haven’t received your booking confirmation
  • Changes to a booking you’ve already made
  • Cancellations and refunds
  • Payment, luggage, seating or visa questions
  • Problems completing a booking
  • Airline or airport-related information

Can’t remember who you booked your trip with?

Step 1) Check your email for a booking confirmation – it should have been sent when you made your booking.

Step 2) Check your junk or spam email if you can’t find it.

Step 3) Check your bank statement, which should show you the airline or travel agent’s name next to any charge.

How do I find out if my booking has gone through?

When you make a booking with an airline or travel agent, they will send you a confirmation email and also charge your card/bank account for the transaction.

As a travel search engine, TripRadars is a tool to help you to find the best prices but we don’t take bookings or payments ourselves. Once you found what you are looking for, we simply transfer you to the travel provider (airline or travel agent) to complete your booking directly with them. They are the best people to speak to as they can tell you if your booking has gone through – TripRadars doesn’t have access to this information.

Can’t remember who you booked with?

Step 1) Check your email for a booking confirmation – it should have been sent when you made your booking.

Step 2) It’s worth checking your junk or spam email if you can’t find it.

Step 3) If you can’t find your confirmation and you’re still not sure, the best thing to do is to check your bank statement, which should show you the airline or travel agent’s name next to any charge

How do I change or cancel my booking?

There can often be some confusion around what we do here at TripRadars. It’s OK, we’re not offended. It can be confusing! So let’s clear it up.

We’re not an airline, hotel, car hire company, or travel agent. Instead, we use our top-notch tech skills to find you the best travel options and the best prices. We want you to have a great travel experience, and that means not overpaying for your trip.

If you need to cancel your booking, a lot of people think they need to contact us. That’s totally understandable but you’re actually paying and booking with the travel company you select and, because we don’t hold your booking or payment, we can’t cancel your booking. We can, however, point you in the right direction so you can speak to the people who can help.

Here are three easy steps to figuring out how to cancel.

Step 1: If you can’t remember the name of the travel agent or airline the booking is with, check your email for a booking confirmation. It should have been sent to you when you confirmed the booking.

In your email, try searching for the destination. Or simply search ‘booking confirmation’. It should show up.

Step 2: Still can’t find it? Check your junk folder and your spam folder. Sometimes your email will filter things in here by mistake.

Step 3: Still no luck? You used a card to pay so the booking will be on your bank statement. Check your statement for the payment, and the name of the airline or the travel agent should be right there next to the charge.

My booking has been canceled

We’re sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, cancelled bookings are beyond Tripradars’s control because we are a travel search engine, rather than a booking service. Cancellations usually occasionally occur when the airline or travel agent is unable to fulfil a ticket at their advertised price, or if the airline makes a decision to cancel that flight or route.

If this happens, the airline or travel agent will give you the option to purchase a ticket at the new price or refund your money in full, they should also indicate when the refund will arrive in your bank account.  We would recommend speaking to your travel provider directly with regards to the options that might be available.

I booked the wrong dates / times

If you have found that you have booked the wrong dates or times, please contact the airline or travel agent that you booked your flight with as they will be able to help you change your flights to the intended dates or times.

The search box below can help you find the contact details for the travel provider you booked with.

You can search flexible or specific dates on TripRadars to find your preferred flight, and when you select a flight on TripRadars you are transferred to the website where you will make and pay for your booking. Once you are redirected to the airline or travel agent website, you might be required to select dates again, depending on the website. In all cases, you will be shown the flight details of your selection and you are required before confirming payment to state that you have checked all details and agreed to the terms and conditions. We strongly recommend that you always check this information carefully, as travel information can be subject to change.

I entered the wrong email address

Please contact the airline or travel agent you booked with as TripRadars does not have access to bookings made with airlines or travel agents.

If you can’t remember who you booked with, you can check your credit card statement for a company name.

Changes, cancellation and refunds

For changes, cancellations or refunds, we recommend that you contact the travel provider (airline or travel agent) agent that you completed your booking with.

As a travel search engine, TripRadars doesn’t take your booking or payment ourselves. Instead, we pass you through to your chosen airline or travel agent where you make your booking directly. We therefore don’t have access or visibility to any of your booking information. Depending on the type of ticket you’ve booked, there may be different options for changes, cancellations and refunds, and the travel provider will be best placed to advise on these.

How can I pay?

TripRadars is a travel search engine, and we don’t handle bookings or payments at all. When you find the travel arrangements that suit you, via the website or our app, you will be transferred to the service provider’s site to complete your booking. Once there, you’ll be able to see all the different payment options they offer.

For this reason, we recommend that you get in touch with the airline, travel agent or travel provider directly if you have any questions about how to pay.

For security reasons, when you buy a flight ticket you may sometimes be asked for further identification or documents before your booking can be processed. If you have any concerns about this, please contact your provider.

I think I have been overcharged

Prices on TripRadars always include an estimate of all taxes and charges that must be paid.

When we transfer you to the airline or travel agent website to complete your booking, all flight details including prices will be updated and displayed. At this stage, we recommend that you check this information carefully before you confirm and pay for your booking. The final price you pay for your tickets may change because of additional options offered by the provider, such as luggage or travel insurance (although these should always be optional).

A note about card fees. Airlines and travel agents offer a free payment option (usually it’s the most popular card in your country) but they might charge fees for other payment methods. Because you have at least one option to avoid these fees, we don’t include them in our prices. If you feel like you have been overcharged, we recommend that you contact the provider you booked with – they are the best people to help you, the search box below can help you find the contact details for the travel provider you booked with.

My card has been charged but I don’t have a booking confirmation

As a travel search engine, TripRadars doesn’t handle bookings or payments directly – so we don’t have access to individuals’ booking information. Instead you are transferred to your chosen airline or travel agent, and your booking is made with them directly.

If your card’s been charged but you haven’t received your confirmation, sometimes there can be a delay on confirmations coming through, or there could be a technical reason why you haven’t received it.

If you still can’t find it, we would recommend contacting the airline or travel agent that you attempted to book with to ask if they can confirm your booking – they will be best placed to clarify the situation as quickly as possible.

Can’t remember who you booked with?

Step 1) Check your email for a booking confirmation – it should have been sent when you made your booking.

Step 2) It’s worth checking your junk or spam email if you can’t find it.

Step 3) If you can’t find your confirmation and you’re still not sure, the best thing to do is to check your bank statement, which should show you the airline or travel agent’s name next to any charge.

Prices

Can you guarantee the price shown on TripRadars?

As we don’t set prices ourselves, it’s not possible for us to guarantee the prices of airlines and travel agents. We make every effort to ensure the information you see on TripRadars is accurate and up to date but prices can change frequently with availability. Very occasionally there can also be a problem with the prices being passed through to us to show by a provider, or there are technical reasons why the price is not represented accurately. If you feel that this is the case then please raise it via the contact us button below.

Can you give me a quote?

Because flight prices and availability change constantly, the best way to find the most accurate prices for your journey is by doing a new search – we can’t give quotes by email. Simply enter where you want to fly from and to in the search box on our site, then select the dates you’re interested in. If your travel dates are flexible, you can search for the best prices for a whole month, or even a whole year.

TripRadars is a travel search engine. Once you find a flight that suits you, we simply transfer you to the airline or travel agent to complete your booking.

What do you include in the prices shown on TripRadars?

Prices on TripRadars always include an estimate of all taxes and charges that must be paid – our goal is to make searching for travel as transparent as possible.

As a travel search engine, we don’t advertise prices ourselves, and instead we display them on behalf of the travel providers (airlines and travel agents). TripRadars doesn’t influence prices at all, either, and we are only able to display the rates and availability that the travel providers pass through to us to be displayed.

When we transfer you to the airline or travel agent website to complete your booking, all flight details including prices will be updated and displayed. The final price you pay for your tickets may change because of additional options offered by the provider, such as luggage, seating options or travel insurance (although these should always be optional).

Sometimes a travel provider might charge more for certain payment methods. However, the price shown on TripRadars should always include a free option (usually it’s the most popular card in your country). Because you have at least one option to avoid any additional fees and it’s the most popular payment method that’s free, this is the price we show in our results.

If you have any other questions about what’s included, please contact the travel provider you plan to book with. You can find the contact details of the travel providers (airline or travel agent) listed on TripRadars using the search below.

Why does the price change from the calendar, graph or country pages to the next page?

This can happen occasionally because it’s not possible for us to show live prices until the actual booking time as flight prices and availability are constantly changing. The prices shown on these pages are based on recent prices found by other users on our site over the past 8 days. For this reason, the prices we show on these search pages are only an estimate, which is why we state “indicative prices only” on the month view page.

Once you input a specific departure point, destination and date we always display the most recently available price on the final page, at which point you can then choose to be transferred to the airline or travel agent’s website to complete the booking at that price.

We are constantly working on improving the accuracy of our month view prices, as it is in our own interests as well as our customers for them to be as accurate as possible.

Why does the price change when searching for more than one person?

Generally there are always a number of tickets available at one particular price and when those are sold out, the next price category becomes available – usually at a slightly higher price. It can happen that there is only one ticket left at the initial price, and that is why when you try to book two or more tickets the total price changes.

Once you’re redirected to the airline or travel agent, the total amount for all tickets and passengers should be shown to you, and that is the final amount that you will pay. We recommend that you check this carefully before you confirm and pay for your booking.

As a search engine, TripRadars doesn’t actually take any bookings or payments; instead you book and pay directly with the flight provider.

Why does the price sometimes change when I am redirected to a flight provider?

Flight prices and availability change constantly, so we make sure the data is updated regularly to reflect this. When you click on ‘details’ or ‘select’, the price is updated again, so you always see the best price available from the airline or travel agent at time of booking.

We make every effort to ensure the information you see on TripRadars is accurate and up to date, but very occasionally there can be reasons why the price is not represented accurately on the site.

Traveling

Connecting flights

There’s nothing worse than missing a flight connection, so TripRadars is designed to help you avoid that fate!

As a general rule, we don’t show flights with less than one hour connection time in the airport, as this might not give you enough time between flights. You may also need more time – particularly in large airports or where you have to clear customs and immigration between flights. We also make sure, if you’re making a journey with more than one flight and with different airlines, that we flag it if the two airlines don’t offer cover for missed connections.

However, TripRadars is a travel search engine only, and we don’t sell flights directly – instead we pass you on to the airline or travel agent to make your booking. We would therefore recommend that you contact the flight provider if you have any specific questions or concerns – they also will be able to clarify what would happen in the event that a connecting flight is missed.

Travelling with pets

Airlines have different rules about travelling with pets, and we recommend contacting the airline or travel agent you plan to book with directly with any questions, or to check the requirements for travelling with an animal.

When’s the best time to book?

Flight prices change all the time and the availability and pricing vary depending on a number of different factors. There is no sure fire way to guarantee the best prices, but some times of the year have historically been better than others. For example, there are often good flight deals to be found to many destinations in January.

If you’re flexible on dates, using our month and whole year searches can also be helpful in comparing prices. Our browse view article might help.  If you have fixed dates, you can try setting up price alerts which will let you know when the price changes. Here’s another article that might help.

In general, our advice is to book a flight as soon as you find a price you are happy with. Whenever you decide to book, it’s reassuring to know that our system is designed to find you the best prices available at the time.

Visas, Passports and travel documents

Different airlines, countries and governments have many different requirements for passports, ID, visas and other travel documentation, which can also vary depending on your own nationality. Importantly, it is each passenger’s personal responsibility to ensure they have the correct documentation before they travel, so it’s essential that you check these details before booking your flight.

Do I need a passport to make a booking?

This can vary depending on the flight provider (airline or travel agent), and the specific route. Often for domestic flights a passport is not required, and other forms of ID are acceptable – the airline or travel agent with whom you intend to book should be able to provide this detail. Some providers request passport and ID at the time of booking and you won’t be able to complete your booking without these details, while with others may allow you to enter this information post-booking, or when you are doing online check-in a few days before travel.

Can I make a booking if my passport has expired?

If a passport is required to make a booking then in most cases it would be fine to make a booking with your old passport number and then, when you get your new passport, you can contact the airline and they can change it over for you (often you can do this on the ‘manage my booking’ section of the airline website, depending on the airline). However, the process can vary depending on the airline, so where possible we would recommend checking with the airline or travel agent in advance. We would also always recommend allowing plenty of time if you need to renew your passport, and your local passport office should be able to advise accordingly.

Do I need a visa or transit visa?

Travel documentation requirements do change frequently, so our best advice is to check with your airline or travel agent, as well your destination country’s local Embassy or Consulate before you book, and certainly before you fly. Remember, it is each passenger’s personal responsibility to ensure they have the correct documentation before they travel.

Luggage

Depending on the flight provider, the rules, conditions and prices for luggage (including sports equipment) do vary. It’s always a good idea to check with the airline or travel agent directly (and you should be shown the options when you make your booking).

Seating

Once you’ve found the flights that suit you, we transfer you to the airline or travel agent that you have chosen to book with. Your booking is made directly with them, and you should be shown all options for allocating seats at the point of booking if this service is available for your selected flights.

The travel provider you’re booking with will be the best people to speak with should you have specific questions regarding seating or any special requests.
